Hi all! I’ve decided to do the ABC-Book_-Challenge too! I have been thinking for a while to find something to write next to my weekly reviews and I thought this might be fun πŸ™‚

I got the idea from Sofii @ A Book A Thought, so thank you! Like her, I don’t know the original creators so if you do, please let me know!

Memorable titles that start with the letter O

  • The Ocean At The End Of The Lane: I read this one as an audiobook by Gaiman himself and it was really great. He knows very well how to make something seem like just a childish story but it’s so much more than that. Review hereΒ

Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Yes, yes, I know. We’re in the 9th month and it is way past 6 months for this tag, but I just completely forgot I wanted to do it so here I still go!

1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2019?

I think it’s got to be Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte, that book just blew me away!

2. Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2019?

Does A Gathering Of Shadows count if I read it on December 29 last year..? Because I have read a total of one (1) sequels this year, which is Glass Sword. But I also read Heartstopper II so I think that one counts as well!

3. New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To?

Besides a lot of sequels to books that I haven’t yet read either, I did buy Priory of the Orange Tree, Enchantee, Spin The Dawn, Soul of the Sword, King of Fools, and The Princess and the Fangirl. There’s so many other new releases I want to read, but these are the ones actually waiting on my physical shelves haha

4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2019?

FIVE DARK FATES and SUPERNOVA. I need them so badly

5. Biggest Disappointment?

Probably Alice by Christina Henry.. I liked the idea, but the book was going to places that I don’t particularly enjoy reading about, sadly. Also, the character Alice seemed written really young, but those places were either really really bad or she’s a lot older than she seemed like.

6. Biggest Surprise?

I think Rite of Passage by John Passarella. I haven’t watched any Supernatural in years, but his book was written so well, it immediately brought me back to the world of Supernatural!

7. Favourite New Author?

Anna-Marie McLemore, since that’s the only new author I’ve read and really liked.. But I enjoyed When The Moon Was Ours a lot as well, so that’s good! Her other books are still on my wishlist!

8. Newest Fictional Crush?

I don’t really get crushes on fictional characters, but I got to say, I’ve read about a lot of awesome people this year.

9. Newest Favourite Character?

Hmmmmm…. I think either Farley from the Red Queen series, or Jax, from The Mechanical.

10. Book That Made You Cry?

I think none? I don’t cry at books easily..

11. Book That Made You Happy?

Honestly, not specifically a certain book. I think I’ve read too little books to say I’m more happy about one book next to the others..

12. Favourite Book To Movie Adaptation You Saw This Year?

Not movie, but we watched Good Omens (and then I watched it another two times) and absolutely loved it!

13. Favourite Review You’ve Written This Year?

I haven’t written a lot of reviews so far, but I think Four Dead Queens was quite well πŸ™‚

14. Most Beautiful Book You Bought So Far This Year?

So, so many. But we did buy the illustrated edition of Good Omens, so that one is amazingly beautiful on the inside as well!
I mean, look at that

15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year?

ALL OF THEM. But for the serious, I hope to have read both new releases I’ve talked about earlier this post, and other than that I have no specific list πŸ™‚
Sooo now that I’ve done that tag, I can do the autumn tag ^^; shame on me xD
Did I list any favorite books of yours? Or do you have some good recommendations for me? I’d love to hear them all!

The ABC-Book-Challenge: N

I know I said I could post more regularly, but I also said my schedule for summer break would be crazy, and I wasn’t wrong.. Specifically this month is very hectic. From September 1st to September 4th was Castlefest, a lovely festival we go to. September 6th to September 8th was our treehouse mini-vacation with the kid, packed with activities during the journey to and back home. On September 11th, my boyfriend and I will be on the plane to the United Kingdom at 8am (meaning alarm goes at 3am.. RIP), and we’ll fly back on September 21st. Then, we have a few more days to do ALL THE LAUNDRY, finish everything, and then on September 26th, the “normal” life starts again… who ever said vacation was meant for not-being-busy..? πŸ˜‰Β

Memorable titles that start with the letter N

  • Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist: a book that I read when I was younger and loved so much, I actually read it another few times. I’ve seen the movie 3 times too.
  • The Night Circus: This book totally astonished me, I really loved how everything was described although some things were overexplained and I didn’t understand the relationship that was going on. Review here
  • Night Watch: another Discworld, yes I know. But this one is special because it’s about Vimes and it really is a beautiful book. I’d recommend it to anyone, but only if you’ve read more Discworld books, specifically The Watch subseries. It makes the book a lot more understandable and better ❀
  • Norse Mythology: I really like mythology books and I read this one within an evening. I loved how the myths were told, and it got me into Neil Gaiman’s writing. Review here

The ABC-Book-Challenge: M

Memorable titles that start with the letter M

  • The Martian: a book that took me by surprise. I loved this book, and I never knew what would happen right until the last page, it was fantastic.
  • Maya und Domenico: an original German book that’s been translated to Dutch. I loved this whole series as a kid and will definitely reread them sometime to bring back the feeling of me and my sister just fangirling over them.
  • Mythos: give me some books about mythology and I’m sold. This one by Stephen Fry was especially fantastic, because, well, Fry, but also because of the way he is telling them. He is using metaphors and comparisons from the current world, and it makes all amazing.
  • The Mechenical: this is a book that I’ve originally had on my TBR but did read in between of writing and posting and it’s done a lot with my mind. It’s quite difficult to explain it without spoiling, but it’s on my list of Reviews-To-Come. It’s definitely a book that’s made me think about certain things in life.

The ABC-Book-Challenge: L

Hi all!Β  πŸ™‚

I haven’t been posting anything for a looong time, and I honestly am done making excuses. I’ve been terribly busy, and both physically and mentally, and I’ve been wanting to write a post on that, too, but as you’d expect, it’s taking me longer than I’d like to put thoughts and feelings into words.

However, I think the ABC challenge is a bit of a mess right now, since my TBR has gone through the roof lately and I’ve added so many books, but I don’t want this to be just another thing that I’ve started and not finished so I’m gonna update the pre-written posts and add some things and keep posting till Z!

I got the idea from Sofii @ A Book A Thought, so thank you! Like her, I don’t know the original creators so if you do, please let me know!

Memorable titles that start with the letter L

  • The Lightning Thief: ah the start of my love for Percy Jackson ❀ this was one of the first book I ever read in English and loved it from the start. Now I just have about 20 of Riordan’s books at home xD
  • The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet: one of my favorites of 2018 as well. I love science-fiction books and this was such a feelgood ❀ Nothing big happened it was just a story set in space about a group of friends but I didn’t get the anxious vibe I usually get when things go wrong in books. I loved it.
  • Last Sacrifice: The last book of the Vampire Academy will always mean a lot to me. The ending of the series is always something that leaves a little mark, and the ending of this series was something I really wasn’t ready for. However, I think the ending was really nice, and fitted so amazingly in the series.

Also, Loveless by Alice Oseman is coming out, and it doesn’t have a cover yet, but it’s been on my TBR ever since she announced it πŸ™‚

If you’ve read any of those titles, please tell me your thoughts!
